Wacky Wednesday is an episode of the ALVINNN!!! and The Chipmunks series.

Plot

Alvin and Jeanette awake in their houses only to discover they aren't themselves when looking in the mirror. Rushing to talk to the other, they collide and initially reason they are both in a shared nightmare. When the pair is unable to wake themselves, they conclude Simon must have something to do with the body switch as both began to feel weird after seeing him. After experiencing a recollection of Simon working on a new invention, Alvin and Jeanette confront the blue-clad chipmunk, who doesn't believe them for he was certain the device was a failure. Alvin provides proof and Simon fakes an illness in order to stay home and rebuild the ray. At school, Alvin and Jeanette switch schedules and begin living the other's life. During which "Jeanette" tells Brittany that Alvin's always right and "Alvin" learns he has to fight Derek. Meanwhile, Simon tests his rebuilt invention in his closet room only to mistakenly switch places with a cat. Alvin and Jeanette chase the cat down so Simon can switch back into his body while Alvin and Jeanette go back to school. "Jeanette" wants "Alvin" to fight Derek, to save his reputation, while "Alvin" wants to talk to him. When talking fails, Alvin refuses to let Jeanette get hurt to protect his reputation, but Derek still wants to fight. Simon arrives just in time to switch Alvin and Jeanette back into their bodies only for Alvin and Derek to swap places. "Derek" calls a truce, ending the fight, and Simon quickly fixes the last unintentional switch. At the end of the day, Jeanette learns from Brittany that when Alvin was in her body, he made a comment to her that he is always right, which annoys Jeanette.

Trivia

• This episode's title is a parody of the novel Freaky Friday.
• The cat that Simon swaps bodies with looks like Shirley from Good Luck Mr. Whiskers.
• Goof: Jeanette's glasses are briefly positioned to the left side of her face when talking to Brittany in front of the lockers.
• Goof: Right before Alvin and Jeanette face Derek for the fight, a wall of lockers are seen outside behind the flower bushes instead of a brick wall.
• The clip of Simon being zapped by his invention is included in the second series opening theme, first seen at the start of season three.
• When this episode premiered in the US, it aired with a rerun of Attack of the Zombies.
