To Serve And Protect is an episode of the ALVINNN!!! and The Chipmunks series.

Synopsis

Simon is ecstatic when he's elected as the school's safety monitor and gets to choose the destination of the upcoming family vacation. But when Alvin goofs off at school, Simon faces a moral dilemma, and has to choose between doing the right thing or giving Alvin detention and ruining the family vacation.

Plot

While Simon is practicing a speech in the mirror, Dave informs him to meet everyone downstairs so they can pick their next vacation. Downstairs Simon, ecstatic he's the school's new Safety Supervisor, informs his family of his duties. When he's done, they recite the rules for their vacation and pick straws to see who gets to pick the location. Simon wins and chooses the Smithsonian Museum, much to Alvin's displeasure. Simon refuses to give into Alvin's pleads for him to change locations so Alvin decides to use one of the vacation rules (none of them can get into trouble) to test Simon's integrity in his new position. After a conflicting discussion with himself, Simon gives in angrily and doesn't give Alvin a citation. At home, they disguise a fight from Dave. The next day Simon is forced to over look citation after citation his brother's involved in with hopes of going to his dream museum. As Simon sleeps that night he has a nightmare of all the citations he lets go (resulting in baldness from stress and dishonesty). Simon turns in his badge the next morning ashamed of himself. Alvin, finally seeing he crushed his brother's dreams, tells Dave what happened. For his punishment, he gets to stay with Miss Smith and miss the special exhibit on the history of surfboards, much to Alvin’s disappointment.
