Theodore Lucks Out is an episode of the Alvin and the Chipmunks series.

Plot[]

At the school's field and track events, Theodore is feeling unsure about his pole vaulting, especially since Dave won a gold medal in the pole vault when he was Theodore's age. Dave leaves for a business trip and won't be back until the boys' track and field event, but Theodore is worried he won't win, letting Dave down. After Grandma and Grandpa Seville call stating they will be able to watch the boys' events, Theodore feels even more pressure. Theodore looks to his brothers for help but neither's advice is useful. He finds a dime and successfully makes it over the bar for the first time. After he aces a surprise spelling test, Theodore's positive his dime is lucky. In his locker he discovers a basket of cookies with a note from a girl named Heidi. As a result he is so much more confident in himself that he spends the afternoon with Heidi. Simon tries to be logical with Theodore, saying that there is a rational explanation for everything, for example all the words on the spelling test were found in a cookbook, which Theodore is certainly familiar, but Theodore is convinced the dime is the source of his good fortune. The next day at finals, the chipmunks lose three of the events. Theodore, along with his brothers, is assigned to the three-man race, and he loses his dime. He frantically looks for it in the middle of the race, but when he finds a snake instead, he flies past the competition trying to get away from it, which causes him to break the tape before he's congratulated by Dave, Grandma, Grandpa and Heidi. Simon sees that the snake was in fact a plain old water hose. The Chipmunks win the three man race though Theodore think his unmatched socks gave him luck. Alvin and Simon are worried again and pretend they don't know him.
