The Chipmunks Rummy[]

Shuffle and deal out six cards to each player (seven if only two play). Stack the remaining cards on table (or on one side of Ed-U-Cards "Travel-Tray") face-down. Turn over top card and place face-up beside the face-down cards. This starts the "discard pile."

Player to the left of the dealer begins game by taking the top card from either the drawing or discard pile and they can then lay down matching cards if he has three or more alike or three or more cards with consecutive numbers in each series ... such as Nos. 1, 2, 3, "MICROPHONE" cards or 7, 8, 9, "TV" cards, etc. When he can make no more plays he must discard one card by placing it face-up on the discard pile. Then the next player to his left goes and the play continues in the same way around the table.

Any player, in his turn, may add cards on his own or other players' "lay-outs" provided he can go out when so doing. However, he must first draw one card from "discard" or "drawing" pile. The one who clears his hand of all cards is the winner and receives the total number of points remaining in his opponents hands. If all cards in the drawing pile are used up before there is a winner, the discard pile may be shuffled and turned face down to form a new drawing pile.

Rules for Playing While Traveling[]

Play two handed. Deal seven cards to each. Use "Travel-Tray." All rules remain the same - however, keep all cards in your hand throughout game and declare "Rummy" when you have completed a three card and a four card series - or a seven card sequence such as 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, of any one object such as "MICROPHONE," "TV," etc.
