Attribution of the lyrics[]

Some of the lines in this page seem to be improperly attributed. Both Dr Scott's and Magenta's lines are attributed to Simon, and Columbia's lines are attributed to Theodore. Meanwhile, on the album's page, only Dr Scott's lines are attributed to Simon, while Magenta's lines are attributed to Brittany and Columbia's lines are attributed to Eleanor, with Theodore said to be absent from the track. Given that the characters of Magenta and Columbia are female, I suspect that the attributions given on the album's page are correct, and that the ones given on this page are incorrect. --StefCW (talk) 17:08, August 30, 2016 (UTC)

Keeping with the discussion, the lyric attributions were converted more or less to what they originally were and the album trivia was modified. This wasn't done by me as I don't know much about these characters. Your Admin: DEmersonJMFM (Talk) 14:29, 15 October 2016 (UTC)
It's obvious that you and David Alvinson need to talk here about the proper singer attribution of the song. Your Admin: DEmersonJMFM (Talk) 02:59, 16 December 2016 (UTC)
Okay before I change things back to what they are supposed to be I'll clarify them here. Yes I know the parts of Magenta and Columbia are female and it would make sense for The Chipettes to sing those parts however I have slowed the song down and Columbia's parts are sung by a male voice that is the same as the one singing for Dr Scott's parts making it Simon and Magenta's part is sung by a woman but when you compare it to other songs from the same generation you can tell it's Theodore singing. David Alvinson (talk) 16:33, December 16, 2016 (UTC)
I don't think the voice of Magenta sounds male in the slightest. It sounds very much like the voice of a woman doing a heavy faux-Transylvanian accent. That said, I have never listened to the song slowed down, so I don't know what it sounds like. I'll try to find a slowed-down recording to verify the gender of the singer. As for the attribution of Columbia's lines, I don't need to slow it down to know that it sounds nothing like how Theodore usually sang during the 90s. In fact, I'd say it sounds similar to how The Chipettes were singing on that very same album. --StefCW (talk) 21:15, December 16, 2016 (UTC)
By the way, when you credited the chorus you left out a comma. --StefCW (talk) 21:28, December 16, 2016 (UTC)
Never mind. Somebody fixed it.--StefCW (talk) 21:55, December 16, 2016 (UTC)
For the time being, as you both have reverted each other's edits, in order to prevent this from continuing, the page has been fully protected. If there is additional disagreement about this specific attribution issue, please resolve it in full here. Thanks. Your Admin: DEmersonJMFM (Talk) 16:48, 16 December 2016 (UTC)
If you do find a slowed down copy of the song it's probs not gonna sound right because hardly anyone can get it right for some reason also I didn't wanna but: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ua2Rhq7MQbw if this doesn't help in some way then I'll bow out respectfully. —Preceding unsigned comment added by David Alvinson (talkcontribs) 22:01, 16 December 2016‎. Sorry, that link didn't really help me. It seems to just be a video version of the lyrics given on this page. I imagine that the person who created the video was using the wiki as a source. I appreciate the effort, but I'm afraid this hasn't helped to clear up the issue.--StefCW (talk) 16:41, December 17, 2016 (UTC)
From me listening to it, the current attribution seems right, more so the Brittany vs Simon lyrics. Your Admin: DEmersonJMFM (Talk) 22:18, 16 December 2016 (UTC)
I can tell you now the person who made that video is not a fan of the wiki nor has she ever been she has never onced used the wiki for help with her videosDavid Alvinson (talk) 19:07, December 17, 2016 (UTC)
Looking at the date of the video, I saw that it predated the creation of this page. So, perhaps the reverse is true, and the original author of this article was using YouTube as a source. Either way, the only way I can see to actually clear this up would be to listen to a slowed down version of the song, and I've unfortunately had no luck in finding such a recording. I don't suppose you'd know where I could find one? --StefCW (talk) 20:46, December 17, 2016 (UTC)
