Samantha is the mother of Miles Spalding in the fourth CGI/live-action film, Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Road Chip.

Samantha, who's been dating Dave, meets The Chipmunks while at a mini-golf course where they learn that she is a doctor (potential a new doctor given she's recently performed her first heart surgery) and the mother of a bully named Miles. She is seen as forgettable as she twice forgets she's wearing her stethoscope outside work; after the first time, she generously gives the stethoscope to Simon. Though she encourages Dave to be more of a "good cop" when it comes to punishment of The Chipmunks, she is quick to act as a "bad cop" when the two discover that their boys sneaked out of Dave's L.A. house to follow them.
Samantha isn't committed to a long-term relationship with Dave as shown during their final dinner together in Miami. While she's open to the possibility in the future, she's glad that Dave isn't expecting such from her now.
