Inspector Jamal is first assumed as a "bad guy" with his 2 hench men, who are rough looking, for side kicks. However he turns out to be a "good guy" and was acually trying to bust a international, illigal diamond trade. He had an inside man in Klaus and Claudia's house named Mario who gave him information about where the chipmunks and chipettes were going next.
At the end of "The Chipmunk Adventure" he catches Klaus and Claudia.
