Alvin and the Chipmunks Wiki

I Know It's Rough Being Sick (It Sure Is Rough Being Sick) is a talking greeting card featuring The Alvin Show generation of The Chipmunks and Dave Seville.

Story[]

It's crazy but cute when the Chipmunks sing their special get well songs to their little sick friend who gets this card.

Greeting[]

Certainly sorry you are sick,
The Chipmunks feel bad, too,
So here they are to cheer you up
And sing a song to you!
Get well soon!

Instructions[]

In order to play the record, the card must be torn in half along the perforation of the spine, the center punch removed, and be flat. If the record clings to the spindle, the hole should be enlarged. The record should be played at 33 1/3 R.P.M. and is playable over 500 times. For maximum playability, the corners should be tapped to the turntable.

Audio[]

Dave:
What are you chipmunks doing?

Alvin:
We're writing some songs to help our friend get well.

Dave:
Who is your little friend?

Alvin:
Our sick friend who gets this card.

Dave:
Alright Alvin, let's hear your song.

Alvin:
Hope you get better, hope you feel good
Hope you feel happy, the way you should
Don't feel blue, it's time to be glad
Don't feel bad, or you'll make me sad

Dave:
Not bad Alvin.

Theodore:
I got one too Dave.

Dave:
What's your's Theodore?

Theodore:
Roses as yellow, violets are blue
I hope you'll feel better and get out of bed

Dave:
That's very good Theodore. I especially like the way it rhythms.

Theodore:
Thanks Dave.

Dave:
Have you got one Simon?

Simon:
Yes I have Dave.

Friend I'm sending this cardenza
It will help your influenza
If you have the chicken pox
Just play this on your music box

Measles, mumps, and runny noses soon will disappear
Everything will come up roses when my song you hear

Dave:
That was very good boys.
I'm sure those songs will make your friend feel better.
And I have one thing to add.
Little friend, if you're just lying there so you won't have to go to school, c'mon now.
