Going Green is an episode of the ALVINNN!!! and The Chipmunks series.

Synopsis

The Chipmunks and Chipettes try to reduce their carbon footprint when Jeanette signs them up for a Green Living competition.

Plot

The Chipmunks and The Chipettes are excited to be participating in a Going Green contest in which the winner earns a trip to Hawaii. Jeanette, who's more concerned with spreading awareness, brings news that she told a competitive eco-friendly classmate, Pamela, about the competition so other families can participate and lower their carbon footprint. The other chipmunks are disappointed with Jeanette but soon get ready to destroy the competition, despite Jeanette's objections. They save energy, water, and resources by changing light bulbs, using less water brushing teeth and bathing as well as recycling trash and taking the bike to school. Brittany spies on their competitors to find that they are losing. That night, a noise from their trash startles them so they assume it was Pamela. To retaliate everyone, except Jeanette, surveil her and later steal Pamela's recycling bin. The following day, Pamela talks to Jeanette and confront the others about the theft. Video evidence clears up the controversy and they learn a raccoon was to blame. Pamela ends up winning the competition and the chipmunks realize that going green is a lifestyle, not something you apply only for a week.
