Wanting to buy Dave the best tape recorder for Father's Day, The Chipmunks decide to sell Theodore's famous muffins to the grocery store. When an order of 432 comes in, Theodore is unable to work fast enough to produce them. He tries to teach his brothers to make them with no luck. Alvin creates a manufacturing line, but when he cranks in up to the fastest setting, he creates a major mess. Hardening powder finds its way into the batter making the muffins very dense and heavy. After they fail to get a single buyer, they decide to sell them as doggie muffins to collect the money for Dave's present.
