Court Action is an episode of the Alvin and the Chipmunks series.
Plot[]
Alvin procrastinates on his book report of The Adventures of Tom Sawyer. While burning the midnight oil, he falls asleep. When he wakes up he realizes it it is time for school and remembers Simon did a similar book report, and grabs that. However, in class his teacher wonders why Alvin did a biography on Pancho Gonzalez, and believes this report submitted was not his own. She says that because of Alvin's plagiarism he is kicked off the basketball team, meaning he is ineligible for the forthcoming championship game. Only the Student Honor Court can acquit him. Alvin thinks this is no sweat, as Simon is judge, and Alvin's teammates start bribing him to have Simon throw their own cases before the Student Honor Court. Alvin is in for a rude awakening as Simon recused himself from the Student Honor Court when he learns of Alvin's case, calling it a conflict of interest. However, this leads to a new conflict of interest, as Theodore becomes the new judge. Theodore has a lot on his hands as Alvin is pressuring Theodore for acquittals for him and his corrupt teammates, whereas Simon is demanding Theodore not cave to intimidation. Torn, Theodore seeks Dave's advice and has a nightmare about the trial. Taking it no longer, Alvin pleads guilty to plagiarism before the Student Honor Court. His punishment is that he is to write a report on Tom Sawyer in his own words. Near the end of the game, the report is done and Alvin is allowed to play. He scores a winning basket. Rather than be the hero, his teammates throw him in the trash can as now they have to face the music at their own upcoming trials before the Student Honor Court.
