Cookie Chomper III is the 77th episode of the '80's TV series.

Plot

Theodore encounters a stray kitten that entered through an open window in the house. He and the boys take an instant liking to the kitten, and after some compromising, they name the kitten Cookie Chomper III, and after Dave is cured of his allergy to cats(due to Simon's allergy technique), he comes to like the kitten as well. After Cookie Chomper III gets run over, the boys have a hard time dealing with it. Eventually, they get a new pet, a puppy they name Lilly.

First appearance of Lilly
This episode was inspired by Ross Bagdasarian, Jr. and Janice Karman's dog, Tiger Lilly. Like Cookie Chomper III in this episode, Tiger Lilly was also run over by a car and killed; The Chipmunk Adventure was dedicated to her memory.
This episode somewhat contradicts "A Dog's Best Friend Is His Chipmunk", because in that episode, Dave had an allergic reaction to Dogs, while in this episode, he has an allergic reaction to Cats. However, oddly enough, Dave develops an allergic reaction to Dogs near the end of this episode.
During the dinner with Roxanne, Simon is wearing a white jacket and tie. But when we see a closeup of the Chipmunks saying "can we keep him?", he is just wearing his ordinary blue sweater.
