Career Day is an episode of the ALVINNN!!! and The Chipmunks series.

Alvin suspects Dave of being a local bank robber when Dave starts acting suspiciously and giving the boys gifts.[2]

Miss Smith wraps up a parent presentation about tapeworms before giving the floor to Dave to give insight into the music industry. Dave unfortunately puts everyone to sleep until suddenly a man kicks in the door, throws a smoke can into the room, and handcuffs Dave onto the floor. At dinner The Chipmunks excitedly talk about Cheesy's dad until they go over to his house for the night, ditching Dave and video games. Dave instead watches the news about a bank robber and a spy commercial. The brothers notice Dave dressed in black the following morning acting very weird leading Alvin to conclude they need to spy on him for answers. They follow him around town making their big discovery once investigating his study where they find spy equipment and a map of banks. Needing to know for certain whether or not Dave is the bank robber, they continue to follow him until finding him creeping outside a bank where they pin him to the ground. He claims he isn't a robber just before the real robber runs out the door. Dave pursues but is caught by Dirk of the FBI. Dirk tries to get Dave to confesses, though another agent proves his innocence with video evidence and they learn Cheesy's dad is just in IT trying to become a field agent. Dirk apologies and Dave offers his research to help catch the robber at the next bank. They get the guy, with a little help from The Chipmunks, earning Dirk praise from his boss. That evening as the boys prepare for bed, Alvin makes an argument Dave should quit the music business and start a detective agency.

  • A sneak peek was uploaded to Nicktoons UK.
  • Kevin's surname is revealed to be Hanson.
  • The world map on the wall of Dave's office is the 1570 Latin Typus Orbis Terrarum, one of the most famous world maps ever made and featured in the world's first atlas, Theatrum Orbis Terrarum, by Abraham Ortelius (1527-1598) and it went through three editions in the later sixteenth century.
    • The map is based most directly upon Mercator's map of 1569, Gastaldi's map of 1561, and Diego Gutierrez' portolan map of the coastlines of the Atlantic.
      • The motto below the map is a quotation from Cicero ("Tusculanae Disputatianes IV. 1 7.37"), and it translates to "For what human affairs can seem important to a man who keeps all eternity before his eyes and knows the vastness of the universe?"
