"Call Me" is a song originally performed by Blondie that is covered by The Chipmunks in the album Chipmunk Punk. This song holds significance as the track that sparked the first revival of the franchise with the creation of the album. After DJ Chuck Taylor sped up the song and claimed it was the group's new single, demand for the song compelled Ross Bagdasarian, Jr. and Janice Karman to create the real Chipmunks' version as a single in 1980 and move into the 80s Chipmunks generation.
