A Room of One's Own is an episode of the ALVINNN!!! and The Chipmunks series.

Synopsis

After squabbling with his brothers, Alvin convinces Dave to give him his own room, but soon realizes living alone isn't what it's cracked up to be.

Plot

When Alvin and Simon are involved in an argument over dirty laundry, Dave breaks it up. While Dave is addressing the boys about their arguing, Alvin's dirty clothes interrupt his train of thought so he takes them to the basement where Alvin convinces Dave to give him a chance to prove he's mature enough have his own room. Alvin decides to do chores and reads an encyclopedia to give the illusion that he's mature. Dave responds by giving him the only available room in the house: the basement. He moves in initially very excited to have his own room, but finds that the room is very quiet and lonely. The next day, Brittany and Jeanette catch Alvin impersonating his brothers as plushes. He plays with himself, while his brothers are also lonely, but Simon isn't willing to forgive Alvin. The Chipettes learn without a doubt that the boys miss each other and are too prideful to admit it so Brittany comes up with a plan to trick Alvin into moving back with his brothers. That night, Alvin cause a ruckus playing his guitar in the basement, and Dave decides to move Alvin back in. They are happy he's back only to be involved in another brotherly argument.

• This episode's plot shares similarities to the season 6 episode of the 1983 Alvin and the Chipmunks, No Chipmunk Is an Island.
• The title is a reference to the Virginia Woolf book by the same name.
• One of the pictures in the scrapbook Alvin looks at in the song montage contains a scene from the episode Bully For You.
• Alvin plays with plush-versions of his brothers in this episode similar to that of Grounded Chipmunk.
• The name of the Theodore plush doll that Alvin plays with is later revealed in the episode The Toy as T2.
