A Chipmunk Christmas is the official soundtrack for the special. A number of the tracks in the soundtrack contain narration from special guest star Santa Claus. The soundtrack was later re-released in 1993 on cassette and CD with the same listing.

Trivia[]
- The LP version of the album included a 16-page book insert under the same name.
- "Wonderful Day" is heard in the special but not within the soundtrack album, however, the song's later included on the CD that comes with the 2012 re-release of the Christmas With The Chipmunks DVD.
- "Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas," "Crashcup's Christmas," and "Here Comes Santa Claus (Right Down Santa Claus Lane)" are included within the album but are not heard in the special.

The album was certified Gold by the CRIA on October 1, 1982[1] and was nominated for a Grammy for Best Recording for Children in 1982[2]
