I hate it, I do not know why people do that. The original couples are perfect together.

Can we pleasae just leave the couples alone like they were menat to be?
These are the shippings that are supposed to be paired Alvin and Brittany, SImon & Jeanette, Theodore and Eleanor?!
PLease? THat's how it always was.
This thread is about what fans think of mixed couples. Everyone has their own opinions and different levels of support for each pair/mixed couples in general. You have already added your opinion so I would like you to not turn this thread into a repeating of it.
Oh. Right. Sorry. I'll try not to repeat my opinions anymore. You're right Everybody has their opinions of mixed couples but no one is being serious about mixed couples actually happening.
I hate Alvon! Can't stand it, they're brothers, like who even thought of that originally? And why did they think of that?
I wish we could know, my friend.
I want to rewrite my opnion about them again. I don't like and don't care about mixed couples. People are free to to do whatever they want. That does not bother me anymore :)
I don't like mixed couples because they wouldn't work out. Alvon is a polular mixed ship, but it totally wouldn't end up great. They don't even get along to begin with! On Fanfiction, Brittany and Theodore are a popular mixed pairing. Like WTF!!!??? It wouldn't work, as Brittany is more emotionally/socially manipulative than Alvin. Theodore is very vulnerable to manipulation, so it would end it domestic violence. PencilIDJ12, I agree that Jeanette and Theodore would be the only mixed pair to work out. Eleanor and Simon wouldn't simply because they are competition as authority figures to their siblings. Jeanette and Theodore would be too shy to even ask each other out or talk to begin with. I think the original canon pairings work except for with Alvinittany. Both Alvin and Brittany are shown to be polyamorous and fight too much, to the point that marriage is guaranteed to have domestic abuse that is done by both. They will end up with others, the others seem to have a perfect match. The other four have common interests and complementary personalities with their counterparts as well as already being shown as close friends. There are some fandoms where mixed couples would work, but this one isn't the case.
I like only Alvinette(Alvin and Jeanette) because I belive that would be only working mixed couple. Brimon( Brittany and Simon) is the most not working relationship I have heard so far(except Alvin and Simon). I don't actually mind if some people ship mixed couples but couples like Alvin and Simon and Brittany and Jeanette I really don't understand not because its gay(I don't have nothing against it) its because they are brothers and sisters.
Don't really like them but absolutely hate Alvon (Simon and Alvin) and other couples like it as they are brothers and in the chipettes case sisters so I really do not understand why people ship these couples don't really get why this is a ship either. Not really the biggest fan anyway because like other people have said the couples are very well established and there is not really any evidence that goes against the established couples but some of the mixed couples could work theoretically like Brimon and Alvinette and are interesting to explore and imagine outside of the main cannon ships.
Here's what seems to be an unpopular opinion in this section: I really like the mixed couples.
To me, the idea that only Canon couples should exist is honestly, foolish and childish, as we can observant people LITERALLY whining about their precious Canon pairings on Mixed Fanart/Fanfic. Like, seriously? They purposely looked up this ship's tag just so they could curse and complain about how this group of people reunited to do something they don't approve? No one invited them here, please, leave!
If they enjoy canon so much that anything the fandom creates is garbage, they should stick to watching the show and never consume ANY other content except that, because the entire purpose of a Fandom is to talk about the series, give your opinion and of course, appreciate the original product, but also make suggestions and CREATE things. If you're not up to that, and would rather criticize everyone who suggests a streak of hair that is not Official and Canon, I'm sorry, but this is just not the place for you.
Now, about Alvinette receiving more hate than Brimon, besides being the counterpart of the same mixed couple, I have a theory.
Out of the Chipmunk group, Simon's the fan favorite by FAR. The fourteen-year-old inside of most of us can’t resist the intelligent boy, who is so calm and gentle, and he can even sing. Stereotypical Dream Boy, no doubt. Out of the Chipettes, the winner tends to be Brittany, since her personality and singing is the most explored out of the three (Mostly on the CGI movies, that shamelessly portray Jeanette and Eleanor as sentient furniture).
That is why a ship between one of these two + anybody else is usually well respected: Because people don't care much about the partner, as long as they are with Brittany/Simon, their happiness being the only important part.
As for Alvin and Jeanette, they are, for some odd reason, far from being people's favorite characters (Myself not included, since they ARE my favorites), meaning that a pairing between them would sound out of place, awkward, and also, people tend to have the same train of though: If they don't exist to please Brittany/Simon, what is their freaking purpose?Loving each other? That can’t happen, curse this pairing!
If I go really far I can compare it to some sort of prejudice. You enjoy your ship but you curse people that enjoy others. The feeling is the SAME, why can't you respect it?
Anyway, my general opinion is that people can easily get analytic over character's behavior towards other characters, and realize actions and reactions that could indicate more than friendship. The more of these “evidence” you gather, the more the ships start to make sense in your head and soon you'll want to view content that confirms your thoughts, cue the many Fanfics, Forums, Fanart, Edits, AMVs, etc.
It's not wrong to ship alternate pairings, it's actually pretty healthy to be able to analyze and take conclusions that are not thrown into your face, like for example, exposition (characters saying "I love you" cannot be compared to characters ACTUALLY SHOWING love). To me, that makes a person more detail oriented and therefore, a better story writer/reader, because they would never make the foreknown mistake of hinting or forcing a relationship between two people that don't really match, or accidentally over-developing something between two supposedly friends.
What I do is stick to my OTP and always be respectful towards other shipps.
